Auspice Terms of Service

These terms describe the rules for using Auspice (良辰吉日, “the App”). Please read them before using or purchasing a service. If you do not accept them, do not use or purchase the relevant service. Our Privacy Policy separately explains information handling. Accepting service terms, using the App, purchasing membership, or allowing system network access does not replace explicit permission to send content to third-party AI.

1. Services and membership

The App provides a Chinese almanac, solar terms and traditional hours, date-selection references, hexagram casting and fortune-slip drawing, important-date management, BaZi/compatibility and date calculations, and interpretations. Features vary with your device, system version, permissions, and service availability.

Member readings currently have no daily count limit, but remain subject to short-term rate protection, aggregate server limits, and abuse prevention. “No daily count limit” does not mean unlimited concurrent requests, continuous availability, or a new online result every time. Declining AI permission does not make member features free.

2. Cultural reference, not factual prediction

Almanac guidance, hexagrams, fortune slips, BaZi, compatibility scores, and date suggestions draw on traditional culture and associated calculation rules. They are for cultural exploration, entertainment, and personal reference, not scientifically validated conclusions or factual predictions or guarantees about the future, relationships, health, wealth, or events.

The App and its AI content do not provide medical, legal, financial, investment, or other professional advice. They must not be used for diagnosis, treatment, trading instructions, or as a substitute for qualified professionals. Do not rely solely on the App for significant decisions or for evaluating or treating other people. Use your own judgment and real-world information. This does not exclude the developer’s responsibilities or your rights under applicable law.

3. Live AI and your choices

The third-party recipient set for live interpretations is DeepSeek / Google Gemini. Requests pass through our server, fortune-api.hezy.tech, to one provider according to the service configuration, not to both simultaneously. Earlier permission covering DeepSeek alone does not automatically expand to this set; the updated disclosure must be confirmed before using the relevant online feature. Recipients outside this set or material changes to data uses requiring permission will be disclosed separately and require explicit permission.

“Questions & readings,” “Compatibility & dates,” and “Connection test” have independent permissions. “Allow & continue” authorizes only the current scope; “Not now” declines it. Closing the disclosure with “Cancel” grants no permission and does not continue the pending send. Permission is stored locally, so later sends within that scope may not prompt every time. In “Settings → Live AI reading,” use “Turn off live AI” for each scope or “Review and enable” to review and allow it again.

• Questions send your typed text and the current hexagram/fortune slip. Compatibility/date reports send derived scores, factors, or candidate dates and reasons, rather than automatically attaching names or original birth profiles. Connection tests send the fixed “ping” message and a test instruction. See the Privacy Policy for the full data scope.
• On-device general readings need no AI permission. If local content is unavailable and online generation is needed, the relevant permission is still checked. Without permission, only available on-device paths can be used; personalized answers and online reports are not promised.
• Withdrawal prevents subsequent new requests in that scope. It does not recall content already sent, automatically erase history, or cancel a subscription. System network access, membership, and AI consent are separate.
• AI can produce inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or inconsistent content. Check its output yourself rather than treating it as fact or professional advice. Do not enter unnecessary sensitive information or someone else’s information without permission.
• Online services may be delayed, rate-limited, or unavailable. Some divination paths may show a general on-device reading when one is available. This does not mean that the online request succeeded or that every feature has an offline substitute.

4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

• Plans and prices: Monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions are currently offered. Prices, currencies, taxes, benefits, offers, and trial eligibility are those displayed on the purchase screen and in Apple’s purchase confirmation. These terms do not guarantee a fixed regional price or a trial for every user.
• Purchases and charges: Billing is through your Apple account and the App Store. Payment timing, including any post-trial charge, follows Apple’s purchase confirmation. The App uses RevenueCat to manage membership entitlements.
• Auto-renewal: Unless canceled, subscriptions renew under Apple’s displayed renewal terms. Cancellation is generally required at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and the renewal charge may occur within the final 24 hours.
• Trials and offers: Available only when you meet the eligibility shown at purchase. To avoid a trial becoming paid, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and follow the deadline Apple displays. Trial/offer treatment, including unused portions, follows Apple’s purchase terms.
• Manage and cancel: Use the App Store or “Subscriptions” in your system Apple account settings. Access generally continues until the end of the paid period after cancellation; trials and special cases follow Apple’s displayed terms. Uninstalling, deleting data, or turning off AI does not cancel a subscription.
• Restore purchases: Use the Apple account used for purchase and the App’s restore-purchases function to look for active entitlements. Restoration depends on Apple/RevenueCat records and network availability and does not promise restoration of expired membership.
• Refunds: Request a refund through Apple’s refund process. Apple decides under its applicable policies. The developer cannot directly refund amounts collected by the App Store. This does not limit consumer rights provided by applicable law.

5. Data, synchronization, and reminders

You should have the right to enter, import, or share the information you provide. You can manage important dates, collections, and history in the App, but iCloud synchronization is not an independent backup. The current key-value implementation resolves conflicts using each whole data category’s update time; capacity, network conditions, and multi-device edits can affect results. Keep other copies of important information.

Reminders depend on system permissions and calendar, alarm, or notification capabilities. They may arrive late or not at all and should not be the only reminder for emergencies, safety, or other critical matters. Revoking permission or uninstalling does not guarantee deletion of system calendar entries, contacts, or iCloud copies. See the Privacy Policy for data handling and cleanup choices.

6. User conduct

Do not use the App unlawfully, infringe others’ rights, submit information you have no right to process, attack or interfere with services, bypass security or access controls, or make abnormally high-frequency requests. Do not unlawfully access the App or its servers. Any restriction on software analysis or interoperability research applies only to the extent such a restriction is permitted by applicable law.

Minors should use the App with guardian guidance. Obtain any required guardian permission before subscribing and follow Apple’s account and purchase rules.

7. Intellectual property

The developer holds the applicable rights in the App’s proprietary code, interface design, branding, and original content. Third-party material is used under its respective license; classical texts and public-domain material do not become the developer’s exclusive property by appearing in the App. Do not infringe the relevant intellectual-property rights. We do not guarantee that AI output is original, exclusive, or dissimilar to other content, and we do not claim ownership of content you enter.

8. Availability and responsibility

We maintain the service but do not guarantee that calculations, content, synchronization, or reminders are completely accurate, uninterrupted, or suitable for your particular purpose. To the extent permitted by applicable law, services are provided as available. Third-party outages, network issues, and misuse may affect operation.

No limitation excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or removes mandatory consumer protections. You are responsible for your judgment and actions, but this does not relieve the developer of responsibilities imposed by law.

9. Service and terms changes

Features may change because of maintenance, system changes, or changes to third-party services. Material service or terms changes will be communicated through in-app notices or release notes. Changes affecting paid entitlements will be handled under applicable rules. Abuse or a breach of these terms may result in restrictions on the relevant service.

Review updated terms when notified. If you do not accept them, you can stop using the relevant service and manage your subscription. A terms update does not automatically expand AI permission: new recipients or data uses requiring renewed permission will be disclosed separately.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. This choice does not exclude mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live. You may first contact us about a dispute or pursue remedies through competent authorities or other applicable channels.
